Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch square baking pan. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, with a wooden spoon, combine the brown sugar, honey, and melted butter. Blend in the flour mixture and stir in the sunflower seeds, currants or raisins, and almonds.
Press the dough firmly into the bottom of the pan. Bake in the center of the oven for about 30 minutes, or until light brown at the edges. Let cool completely before cutting into bars. Store in an airtight container. Well-wrapped bars may be frozen.
