Take a bite out of Apple Fest with fresh fruit, baked favorites…

Sweater weather and the falling of the leaves are just the beginning of the season. If autumn had a flavor, it would be apple — and Strack & Van Til is serving it up in so many ways during Apple Fest, your one-stop celebration for crisp, crunchy apples and the core comfort foods made with them.
Start your Apple Fest journey in the Produce Department, where the fruit of the season are waiting in 3-pound bags — orchard-fresh from Michigan. Choose from sweet Gala, juicy McIntosh, mellow Golden Delicious, crisp Fuji, tart Jonathan, classic Red Delicious, sweet and tangy Jonagold and refreshing Honeycrisp. “Whether you’re baking, snacking or slicing for salads, these apples are the perfect pick,” notes Produce Director Jonathan Carlson.
Take a trip to the Deli Department and treat yourself to Our Own Taffy Apple Salad. Indulge in mouthwatering mixture of diced apples, marshmallows, honey roasted peanuts and a blend of whipped topping, creamy dressing and caramel sauce — made fresh in-store.
Red Apple Cheeses are 100% natural and made with rBST-free milk. They’re crafted using traditional and innovative techniques such as cold smoking with apples and hardwoods to create next-level flavor.
“If you’re looking for something special, try our Apple Pie Spring Rolls with Caramel Sauce,” Deli Director Kristin Snow says. “They’re the right mix of savory and sweet: Golden pie rolls are stuffed with apple and hints of cinnamon and served with rich caramel — like a warm hug in every bite.”
What apple season would be complete without baked goods? Sink your teeth into the Strack & Van Til Bakery’s scratch made apple doughnuts or this year’s new “a-peeling” apple crisp. Craving pie? Choose from 8-inch apple and Dutch apple pies or grab a four-pack of flaky apple turnovers. “Like a sweet companion for your morning coffee? Enjoy a slice of our scratch made apple coffee cake,” says Bakery Director Stephanie Flynn.
You’ll even find something apple flavored in the Meat Department: Savory Apple Bratwurst. “This special sausage is handcrafted in-store, blending juicy apple flavor with classic bratwurst spices,” explains Meat Department Director Gary Teachman. “Grill it, pan fry it or serve it with sautéed onions — it’s an autumn favorite that brings the orchard to your plate.”
From crisp Michigan apples to delicious baked goods, savory pairings and unexpected twists, Apples Fest is here. Come celebrate the season and fall into flavor at your local Strack & Van Til Food Market.
